August update from the President

Off to a Great Start

“A Community of Christlike Care”

You're going to see and hear this phrase a lot. “Christlike care” has been the unwavering heartbeat of Rancho Christian School from our inception in 1980 and this will never change. Every teacher has a heart to show every student the love of God while walking with them through an educational, social, and spiritual journey that is uniquely their own and uniquely wonderful.

Our theme this year is “Thriving” with a focus on happy and successful students and staff. Through every victory and every challenge, our collective goal is a thriving campus based on a Christlike community of care. The theme verse is Ephesians 3:19, “May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” This fullness of life in Christ is what it means to thrive.

Parent Community and Support

Please save the date for our first Parent Connect event on October 22nd. It’s a free event that will include refreshments, a little bit of fun, a good time to connect, some helpful information about the school year, and a 45-minute session with our partner Safe Harbor Counseling. The focus will be on student mental health and well-being. Look for more detailed information in the coming weeks.

Rancho Central is where it’s at. All the information you need about your child’s school life, academics, and events is in Rancho Central. If you haven’t already, please set up your account and check it regularly. Click HERE for a tutorial on how to use Rancho Central.

Rancho Moms. We have a weekly Mom-to-Mom gathering every Thursday morning in the Central Campus with coffee, tea, food, connection, and discussion around being a mom and a follower of Jesus. For more information and to register, click HERE

Parenting groups and classes launch on September 5th in a collaboration with the school and the church. There are (4) 8-week groups and classes that might interest you:

  • Young Families Connection. My wife and I are leading a group called “The Time of Our Lives”. It’s about navigating all the craziness and fun of having young kids. Click HERE to register.

  • Relationship Enrichment and Skills. This group is dedicated to building stronger relationships with a focus on marriage and family.  HERE to register.

  • Superfuntastic Wednesdays are here again for your elementary-aged kids. It’s a mega fun way for your kids to connect with God and each other in amazing ways. Find out more information HERE.

Security

Our armed security team is doing very well stopping every car and managing our daily gate codes. Rancho Christian School sets the standard for safety and security for our students and staff and we are so thankful for them. We also want to thank you for your cooperation and kindness to those keeping our campus safe.

We are thrilled to bring on two new staff members. The first is the Oceanside Chief of Police, who will join our team this fall. You will have an opportunity to meet Chief Kedrick Sadler when we introduce him at our Parent Connect events throughout the year. The second welcome is the addition of Erick Mundo to the security team. We are delighted to have them both join the team this year. They will be working alongside Michael Olsen.

Launching the Rancho Christian School Foundation

We are so excited to announce the launch of the Rancho Christian School Foundation. This organization and its board will steward fundraising and targeted use of those funds to further our mission to equip Christ-centered leaders, and further our vision to be the model of exceptionalism in the Inland Empire. Look for a formal launch announcement at the end of September.

Save the date for our annual Spring Gala. It’s at Pechanga the evening of March 1st. It’s a ton of fun supporting the mission of Rancho Christian School. We want every parent to attend, have an amazing time connecting with each other, while supporting our kids and their school.

We are also pleased to announce our new Director of Development, Kristi Piatkowski. You’ll see her all over campus in the coming weeks casting a vision of generosity that is building Rancho Christian School into the premier private school in the Inland Empire, impacting our own kids every day through Christlike care, and impacting thousands more to come in future generations.

Thank you for taking the time to read this update and I look forward to a truly incredible school year to come. Feel free to contact me with any questions at any time. I always love connecting with parents.
