Dear Parents,
Thank you for choosing Rancho Christian School as a partner in training your children in the image of Christ. It is an amazing ministry and incredible blessing to watch them mature into vessels which He will use for His glory. You are to be commended for your commitment to this journey.
The Bible teaches that parents are to train their children in the instruction of the Lord (Deut 6:4-9; Eph 6:4). However, in today’s fast-paced culture this is not an easy task for anyone. Thus the need for a partnership between the home and the school becomes vital. In addition, the church family is essential for biblical, spiritual, emotional, and social growth. Therefore, there is a great need for a well thought through partnership between the home, the school, and the church. These three work together to instill a Christian worldview at every stage of a child’s development. Christian educators have the privilege of partnering with parents and the church family in training children in the fear of the Lord.
God’s purpose for mankind, since the Garden of Eden, has always been redemptive. There is a dual nature in Christian education. On one hand, people are created in the image of God. On the other hand, that image is broken due to sin. Therefore, part of Christian education is to point students to Christ, in order that they may be redeemed. The other part of the redemptive process is for students to discover their purpose in life. All instruction, whether in History, Art, Science, Language, Gym, Bible or Math, is to point toward the Creator and to reveal one’s need for salvation and destiny in Him.
I feel very strongly that the strength and success of Christian school education rests on the shoulders of the faculty and staff, and their ability to work with parents and inspire students. To this end I will continue to pray for each of us daily. May God grant us the energy and strength to be the best, may He grant us wisdom in each decision, and may we honor Him with everything that we do.
In Christ,
Mike Johnson
