Freshman Year

Western Civilization from the Greeks through the Middle Ages. Students will study Geometry and the literature of the early Greeks and Christians, while at the same time study the foundations of modern scientific thought and the influence of art and music in the culture. All of this is culminated in a study of early Christian theology as it led to the development of Christian apologetics.

Sophomore Year

Western Civilization from the Reformation to the 20th Century. Students will study the history and literature of Europe from the time of the Renaissance and Reformation up through the Age of Enlightenment. Students can expect to read a wide variety of literature from a long list of European authors. The Bible will be thoroughly integrated into each class as they study the Gospel of John and the Letter to the Romans in the context of understanding the development of the Theology of Christian leaders like Martin Luther and John Calvin. Students will also study Chemistry in the context of the history in which it was developed, as well as second year Algebra and its application to the sciences.

Junior Year

Foundations of America, a study in the history and literature of American thought, including the influence of the Old Testament Law in the development of American culture and government. Biology is the next science historically and students will study the mathematics and work of Pascal, Leibniz and Newton who laid the foundation of modern calculus. To supplement the extensive writing experience there will be a special course in the techniques of expressive writing.

Senior Year

The 20th Century, a study in the history and literature of the modern era with a special look at the 20th Century Christian writers, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkein, G.K. Chesterton, A.W. Tozer, to name a few. Mathematics and science will climax with a look in the beauty and complexity of Calculus and Modern Physics. Special courses will also be provided in Philosophy, World Views and Rhetoric.
