Education: San Diego State University, BA English, Minor Socio-Cultural Anthropology, San Diego State University, MA English (American Literature)Wendy Gorham was born in Oregon, but did most of her growing up in California’s State Parks with her Park Ranger father. Being out in the wilds afforded her plenty of quiet time, most of which she happily spent with her nose in a book. After graduating from San Marin High School in Novato, CA in 1992, she knew what she wanted to do… study English. She earned her BA and MA in English at San Diego State University, completing her studies in 1999. After taking time to have a family, Wendy is happy to again be immersed in academics, and has enjoyed teaching at Rancho Christian since 2007.
“I love language and the written word. I find the unlimited variety of expression God has created for us to be astonishing, but Literature can be a challenge for today’s young people. My greatest desire is to unlock a passion for reading and literature in my students, thereby granting them entrance into untold realms. Through experiencing and critically engaging with the writings of others, students can gain a deeper understanding of themselves, the world, and ultimately God’s desires for both.”
